Lighter LLP: questions and answers
What is Lighter LLP?
LLP (Lighter Liquidity Provider) is the community-owned pool of the Lighter exchange. Lighter runs it: the pool quotes prices in its markets and takes over the positions of liquidated traders. Depositors receive shares, and the share price rises or falls with the pool’s result.
What yield does LLP pay?
Lighter reports an APY of 14.9%. Since launch on 16 January 2025 the share price has changed by +263.3%. Past yield does not guarantee future yield: it depends on trading volume, volatility and liquidations.
Can LLP lose money?
Yes. When the market moves sharply against the pool’s market-making inventory, or liquidated positions close at a loss, the share price drops. The largest drawdown of the share price so far is -8.9%.
How is LLP different from Hyperliquid HLP?
Both are community pools that make markets and handle liquidations on their exchange. HLP works on Hyperliquid’s own L1, LLP on Lighter, a zk rollup on Ethereum. LLP now holds $93.12M; its open positions are $9.22M in total.
