Stocks on Hyperliquid: questions and answers
Can you trade stocks on Hyperliquid?
Yes. Stocks, indices, commodities and currencies trade on xyz, an exchange built on Hyperliquid under HIP-3. It lists 114 markets with $3.59B in open interest; the largest are SP500, GOLD, SKHX.
What are HIP-3 and the xyz exchange?
HIP-3 lets independent teams launch their own perpetual markets on Hyperliquid infrastructure: the same order book, account and USDC margin. xyz is the largest such exchange; its tickers look like xyz:NVDA or xyz:GOLD.
Are these real shares?
No. These are perpetual futures that follow the price of a stock, index or commodity through an oracle. You do not own shares or receive dividends, but you can go long or short with leverage, and funding is paid between longs and shorts as on crypto markets.
When are the stock markets open?
Trading runs 24/7, including weekends and hours when the underlying exchange is closed. Outside regular sessions the price follows the oracle and demand on Hyperliquid, so gaps at the open of the underlying market are possible.
Which whales trade stocks?
Right now 80 tracked whales hold positions on xyz. Their positions, liquidation levels and trades appear on the same pages as crypto: open a market to see its whales, liquidation map and funding history.
How do I see only crypto or only stocks?
Use the All / Crypto / Stocks switch in the site header. The choice applies to every page — overview, whales, flows, orders and notifications — and is saved in your browser.
